During a lifetime of travel, it is thrilling to help clients plan unique vacation trips that correspond to their interests and backgrounds. As a travel planner for more than 50 years, I am proud to currently serve as President of the Alliance of Westchester Travel Advisors in New York.
One of my favorite distinctive itineraries I’ve ever been able to create was for a long-term client, a New York City doctor who was born in South Africa. It was unusual because it took him from Capetown to Durban, then on to Kruger National Park on the eastern coast. I excel at tailoring travel experiences to unique needs. In 1987, I even accompanied a group of New York doctors to China to study Eastern medicine in relation to Western practices, at a time when the population was still wearing uniforms.
I later toured India and the Golden Triangle, staying in 5-Star hotels, to study and become certified in Yoga. Now I teach yoga classes at local community centers and LA Fitness. Recently, I traveled from Lima, Peru to Santiago, Chile by boat. It was a surprise to learn that one of the largest deserts on earth exists in Chile, another example of how my diverse experience allows me to personalize travel for my clients.
I am especially familiar with Italy, its history and art, and the country's varied regions from the northern Alps to the Amalfi Coast, and the southern beaches of Puglia. My family hails from the island of Sicily, and I have traveled to Italy more than 30 times. In fact, the travel agency that my father founded chartered the first Pan American 747 for a trip to Italy in 1972.
I have been privileged to serve a wide variety of clients, from single travelers to multi-generational groups. I am here to help with any challenge your travels may bring. Recently, I helped a client who left his passport on board the Douro in Portugal. I got a hold of the Captain of the boat and got him to stop on the river, get a cab, and take his passport back to my client at his hotel. I have built an extensive contact list, and my availability is 24/7 to assist with anything you may need.
When I’m not traveling, I love to teach Yoga, and stay active by biking and skiing. Contact me today to book your next dream vacation!

Tanzania African Safari
Tanzania Safari
Nov 9, 2017
The Tanzania Safari is an adventure like no other you will experience in a lifetime.
As a first time Safari adventurer , I felt like I was experiencing the world
as it was thousands of years ago. As we arrived in Tanzania, the great Mount
Kilimanjaro greeted us in its majestic greatness. Our first stop was the
Gibbs Farm in Karatu, Tanzania. It's the oldest Guest House in Northern
Tanzania. Over 30 acres of organic farming and a sense of taking care of
the earth while also a commitment to community. We explore the gardens
and got to immerse in the beauty of the farm before we started our Safari.
Another highlight was the local school coming to the farm to put on
a performance of singing and dance.
Our next stop was the Serengeti Nation Park. Inside this park is the biggest
crater in the world. At this stop we experience many animals and the
amazing Maasai people. They are the custodians of the world's cattle,
herding cows. From there we went to flew to Northern Tanzania and stayed in
a lodge where animal's could roam freely within our confines. The difference with
this landscape was that the Serengeti was contained and in this area the vastness went on and on. There were more herds of animals and the willabees did their
annual trek from Tanzania to neighboring Kenya every year. We were able to
see a white rhinoceros, which are endangered of extinction. We learned how
the people are taking care of the different animals from poachers. We saw images
of lions with their cubs, images of Lions have just feasted on other prey.
So many images that will stay with me forever.
I highly recommend this Safari as an adventure and an eye opening lifetime
experience.
Here are a few facts............
SERENGETI NATIONAL PARKTanzania has reserved 12% of the country, a total of46,000 square miles for National Parks. This breaks downto 15 national parks. The highlight of these parks is theSerengeti National Park which contains the greatest andmost spectacular remaining concentration of plains gamein Africa. Its northern boundry meets Kenya's MasaiMara, but wildlife knows no borders and the animals travelfreely between the two countries. The migration of plainsgame is an impressive sight and takes place during late Julythrough September when they leave the shortgrass plainsin the south and move towards the Masai Mara in search ofwater.
NGORONGORO CRATERThis is the largest intact crater in the world and was anactive volcano some 8 million years ago. It is a caldera -the cone collapsed and slid back into the volcano leaving acrater of about 12 miles in diameter. There are thousandsof animals that live year round in the crater from thesmallest gazelle to the elephant.
MOUNT KILIMANJAROIn 1848 when John Rebman announced to the RoyalGeographical Society in London that he had sighted amountain capped with snow he was greeted with ridicule. At 19,340', "Kili" is Africa's highest mountain and has apermanent cap of snow on its peaks. An extinct volcano, the mountain can be climbed by most normally fit people;it's a gradual walk up the slope taking three days to reachthe top and two days for the descent.
The weather in Africa is generally pleasant throughout the year – warm to hot days, and temperate nights – with summer(September to April) being the hotter months.
